Evie West makes her own Lion Fish at Thorpe Hesley Junior School

Whilst visiting Thorpe Helsey Junior School a member of the Inspire Rotherham team was told about an amazing piece of homework completed by Evie West, a Year 6 pupil at the school. We went out to meet Evie and have a look at her work and were so impressed with it that we wanted to share it with everyone on our website.
 
Evie was set a piece of homework to make a model of a sea creature. She chose to make a lion fish with her mum and began by sketching some ideas on paper. Her mum used to be an artist so had lots of different materials that could be used to make her lion fish. She finished her fish by covering it with fine paper mache and carefully painting with the striking stripes of a lion fish. It took Evie and her mum 3 weeks to make her model. Evie wrote a step by step guide of how she made her model lion fish to go with the model.
