It was Christmas Eve! Snow was on the ground, and everything seemed so magical! All the children were very excited about Santa Claus coming, and lots were putting mince pies, carrots and milk out for Santa and his Reindeer, before going to bed to make it Christmas as soon as possible!
Once everyone had gone to bed, no one heard the Sleigh Bells ringing and tingling in the sky!
In the Sleigh, amongst all the other wonderful toys, was a small brown bear. He had big brown eyes, a shiny black nose, and a little red ribbon tied around his neck! He was really excited and looking forward to going to a new home!
In fact, the little bear was so giddy, he decided that he’d take a look at the view from the top of the Sleigh! He clambered and wriggled on top of the other toys and hoisted himself on top of the Sleigh.
‘Wow! What a view!’ he thought. He leant over to look at the houses below him, but then he lost his grip and tumbled down from Santa’s Sleigh!
“Help me!” he cried. But Santa couldn’t hear him with all the Sleigh Bells jingling! Luckily, when the little bear landed, the deep snow cushioned him softly.
Rubbing his bottom, the bear got up. He looked around and saw a cat jumping through a small door!
‘It’s a ghost cat!’ he thought. But then he saw the cat was coming out of a special flap. He started to run towards the flap, but the cat had seen him! It stalked up to him and put its claw on his nose, but luckily decided that the bear was not interesting, and walked away.
‘Phew!’ thought the bear, and gave the flap a push and tried to wriggle through it, but his bottom was stuck! He hoped that the cat outside hadn’t decided to come back for another look at him! But then he had an idea!
Tucked away under his ribbon, the bear always carried a small bottle of honey with him! He squeezed a bit on his paws, and he put them on the floor, and because they were so sticky, he managed to pull himself through the flap! He licked his paws clean and started to wander through the house.
Soon, he found a staircase. He decided to go up and see if there was anybody there.
He found himself in a bedroom, and saw a bed. He was very tired after his adventure, so he settled down on it, and was soon fast asleep.
The next morning, he was woken up to shrieks of delight and surprise! A beautiful little girl had found him tucked under her duvet!
She picked him up and cuddled him close!
“I knew Santa wouldn’t let me down! Even though I forgot to put you on my Wish List! You still came and made this the best Christmas ever!” she cried.
The little bear just smiled!
The End!
