Magna Storytelling

For two days in January Magna joined forces with Inspire Rotherham to take part in National Storytelling Week. A special StoryQuest trail took place around the site with children and young people searching the building uncovering hidden words to put together sentences to complete a story.

Two fantastic storytellers, David Hague and Peter J Murray supported the event with David telling stories of scientists and Peter, author of the bestselling 'Mokee Joe' reading extracts from his books.

The Inspire Rotherham team were at Magna with some reading dens helping families build their very own place to curl up with a book which was a great way for the little ones to relax after a busy day of play.

In conjunction with National Storytelling Week Magna offered visitors a chance to win some exciting reading goodies! Short stories on any interest and any subject of no more than 500 words were written and submitted with an overall winner being chosen.

The winning entry was a fantastic story by Catherine Lewis called The Lost Bear. You can read the story here.
