Rawmarsh and Me...The Launch

Saturday 10th April marked the start of Rawmarsh & Me...Unlimited, a year-long initiative aiming to raise personal and career aspirations of young people and parents and help 11-16 year olds achieve their career goals. It is part of the national ‘Inspiring Communities’ campaign and funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Rawmarsh & Me...Unlimited kicked off on Saturday 10th April at Roundwood Pavilion in Rawmarsh, with a fun, free to attend launch event at for people to come down and find out about all the possibilities, activities and support available for young people and parents in Rawmarsh through this project.  Activities included changing an F1 wheel, making your own pizza and creating art work themed around heroes.

The event was attended by Rotherham Mayor Cllr Shaukat Ali, Mayoress Wajida Naseem and MP for Rawmarsh John Healey.

Project Director for Rawmarsh&Me...Unlimited, Deborah Bullivant commented, “Much of the focus of the campaign is about the community of Rawmarsh coming together to give young people the best possible platform to learn, contribute to society and have fruitful, rewarding careers. Therefore we thought a ‘try something new’ format at the launch event would be an ideal opportunity to demonstrate different career pathways that are open to young people, no matter what their interests and skills are.  Above all else, we want to generate a thirst for learning in young people in Rawmarsh and to show them and their families the routes to their future success.”
