Picture This
Rotherham’s ‘Picture This’ project is taken directly from and inspired by the National Gallery’s country wide scheme ‘Take One Picture’. We are hugely grateful to the National Gallery’s Education Department who have provided us with support, guidance and encouragement in launching our own localised version of their project back in 2007/08 using the George and the Dragon Artwork. The challenge is to use the pictures imaginatively in classrooms as a stimulus for creative work in areas such as literacy, mathematics, ICT, art, music, history, dance and drama.
Two pieces of Artwork have been chosen for this year: Asleep on the Watch and The Oxley Children. Both are owned by and being displayed for the duration of the project by Clifton Park Museum.
At the opening of the Picture This exhibition next years picture was revealed if your school would like to participate please contact rachael.lockett@rotherham.gov.uk or have a look at this link www.rgfl.org/picturethis
